The Windless Lamp

One question to take to bed

A teaching from the masters of yoga and a single question, arriving at the hour you actually need it.

Every night, for 108 nights

One email a night, at 8pm New York. Nothing else, ever.
Leave whenever you like — one click, no questions.

You start with Seven Nights. A printable journal of seven of them — the teaching on one page, a ruled page to write on facing it. One of the seven has never been posted anywhere.

Why you can trust what arrives

Most spiritual quotes online were never said by the people they are attributed to. That is the whole reason this exists in the form it does.

Every single night says what it is. No exceptions, no unattributed lines:

And every night carries at least one thing you can check for yourself: a date, a place, a book, a chapter. If it cannot be traced, it does not go out.

What actually arrives

Who is behind it

No face and no name — on purpose. The teachers are the point, and a person in front of them gets in the way.

The line we follow: Paramahansa Yogananda and his teachers, Ramana Maharshi, Anandamayi Ma, Sri Aurobindo, Swami Sivananda. Not affiliated with any organization, ashram or society. No techniques that are given by initiation — those belong to a teacher, and it is right that they do.

The name is from the Bhagavad Gita, 6.19: a lamp where there is no wind does not flicker.
